Summer Slushies for Kids

It's hot outside and the kids are begging for some icy treats. Some of which aren't so great for them. I know myself that retreating to ice cream every night isn't something that's easily avoided during summer months.

For a quick and easy fix that's no so bad on the bulge, try these "Ice Milk Smoothies":

Fill a cup up with ice. Pour milk over the ice until it reaches above the ice. Pour into blender and blend until smooth.

You can add a few spoonfuls of peanut butter, strawberries, bananas, kiwi, apples and cinnamon, cocoa, favorite cereal like cocoa puffs, honey nut cheerios...etc.

If you don't mind a few sugar you can add just a handful of M&Ms, chocolate chips, chocolate, or sprinkles.

Also, if you want a more denser treat they can eat with a spoon, add less milk and top with fruit, cereal or granola.

A more fruity blend:
Fill cup with frozen fruit. Pour milk over the fruit until it reaches over the top. Blend until smooth.

Don't forget you can add some unsweetened yogurt for good digestion, almond butter, or soy milk for healthy snacks or even a bit of flax seed.
Mix it up with what your kids like and love. It's sure to be a nice icy snack.

If you don't want to make your own, stop by the store, we have them there too! For only $2.00 and you can get them with our special berry syrup and cool whip on top!
